Welcome to my website. I was using this to document my travels, but I am slowly phasing it over to use as a portfolio for my sewing and ceramic work.

My favourite Swede came to visit!

Sofie and I met each other 5 years ago in Austria, where we were both living for a year. We were instant friends, both thinking the other was the coolest while not understanding why the other would think the same about us. After exchange, we didn't see each other for way too long until she came to Canada over Christmas 2 years ago. And this year she's living in Revelstoke being the badass snowboarder she is. She came down to visit me this weekend and I was so happy to see her beautiful face.

I had made a prior commitment to hang out with my younger cousins for a couple hours, so she just came along. We had a great time! We first got some food and wandered around the Devonian Gardens, which are half open after a big renovation.

After the Devonian Gardens, we headed over to the Glenbow Museum to see the Frida Kahlo exhibit that is on display, Frida Kahlo: Her Photos. It is a selection of more than 240 photographs that Frida Kahlo collected during her lifetime of herself, her loved ones, and her surrounding environment. They were selected and curated from over 6500 photographs that were kept in the Casa Azul (Blue House) after her death. It was amazing to see some of the personal photos that affected and inspired such a great artist throughout her life.

We spent a couple hours then and then we drove my cousins back to their place and went for dinner with my roommates and Luke. It was so lovely to spend time with a bunch of my loved ones at once!

On Sunday, Sofie and I took our time getting up, I finished some homework, and then we headed out to West Bragg Creek to go snowshoeing. We did the Snowshoe Hare trail. It's just over 5km for the loop, and we took our time doing it, and got back to the car after about 2 hours. You can check it out on hikingwithbarry.com. Who doesn't want to meet Barry, by the way? He seems like just the coolest dude.

It was really nice to get outside and have some time with just us to chat and catch up. And be ridiculous in the snow. We watched a nice movie with the roommates and she left me this morning. I can't be too sad, though! I'm planning on heading out to Revelstoke during reading week in two weeks. Catch some pow and hang loose, y'know?

What about you guys? Any fun snowshoe routes to do? Do you have a sister-from-another-mister, or brother-from-another-mother that you can go months/years without seeing and have it seem like no time at all? Comment below!

Stay warm in this wintery weather, and have a great week, everybody.
